The most common recording problem is not video encoding. It is identifying the correct creator. A nickname is convenient for people but is not a durable database key.
Why the SOOP Live creator ID is preferred
A SOOP Live creator ID remains stable when the creator changes their display name, adds emoji or changes capitalization. SoopRec stores this ID in the watchlist and prints it in recording captions so you can verify the source later.
Display names may be missing, duplicated or changeable. SoopRec rejects any lookup that cannot identify one creator safely. Sending the stable creator ID avoids that ambiguity.
Copy an official share link
Open the public SOOP Live live, use SOOP Live's share action and copy its official HTTPS link. SoopRec accepts official public SOOP Live live-share links and rejects unrelated URLs.
You can paste the share link after /rec or /watch. The URL is used for identity resolution; SoopRec does not ask you to sign in through a third-party page.
What if an ID is not found?
An ID may be valid but temporarily unavailable through the supported public lookup. If the creator is live, use the official share link. If they are offline, try /watch again during the next public live.
Can I use an @username?
Use an @username only when SOOP Live exposes it as a stable, unique creator identifier. Otherwise use the creator ID or official share link shown by SOOP Live.
